Our new Quarter Horse model takes shape. This will be the basis for our equine colic simulator as well as our equine venipuncture simulator. By creating our own model we are able to ensure the quality of the finished fiberglass inside and out, as well as the anatomical accuracy.
Al Stinson refines the structure with help from photos and working with live models. The base of sculpture is a foam CNC cut reproduction of a 1/5 scale model that Al created. It was laser scanned then enlarged to actual size. Refining is necessary to ensure accuracy that cannot be achieved in the small scale.
Once completed the model will be molded and reproduced in hand laid epoxy/fiberglass.
