This photo shows the fiberglass horse with the access hatch cut into place. This will allow the instructors to place a real digestive tract into the unit to facilitate palpation. finished units will have a urethane tub to contain the organs, as well as a reproduction pelvis. The bottom of the belly also has a replaceable plug that simulates the abdominal wall of the horse and can be cut and punctured with a canula to simulate the belly tap procedure.
